Mykonos is a slice of paradise and is indeed a photographer’s dream! Get your cameras ready! I am mapping out 5 Mykonos Instagram spots you simply can’t miss! The best part about this list is all of these spots are located near each other so you can definitely get them all in one day!
1. The Church of Panagia Paraportiani
This lovely Byzantine church overlooking the sea does make pretty pictures against the bright blue sky! From every angle and in every type of weather, the church looks stunning from sun-up to sundown! I met a local and he told me that there’s 365 churches in Mykonos, one for each day of the year.. And Paraportiani is the most beautiful there is!
The Town of Mykonos, called Chora by the locals is the centre and the capital of the island! Numerous cafes, chic boutiques, lovely chapels, whitewashed cubic houses and intriguing stores of every kind make up the narrow winding streets! Everything resembles like a painting! My favourite? The purple bougainvilleas contrasting with the bright white painting of the building walls! Just so gorg!
Whether you are a photographer, an instagrammer, or simply wanting to see the most jaw dropping spots in Mykonos, you will find yourself in the Windmills in one way or another! These windmills are so eye-catching that no matter where you are in Mykonos Town, you are sure to catch a glimpse of them! Even though they’re no longer operational, gazing at them will still give you a chance to witness a part of the island’s rich history!
4. Kastros’ Alley, Little Venice
In Little Venice, there are some lovely alleyways in between the buildings that lead directly to the sea. And the most popular one? Kastros’ Mykonos! It’s the most charming alley located on the side of world famous Paraportiani Church! The location is as unique as you can get. Purely idyllic!
Located in an off the beaten track drive on the back of the island, this extremely glamorous beach deserves a spot in your Instagram feed! Nearly every corner is photogenic, you won’t have a problem finding spots to photograph! Remember to take a break and just enjoy the surroundings between shoots, okay? Relax on the lovely sunbeds all day with fantastic water to swim and cool down in! yes, it’s true that the beach is a bit rocky but totally picturesque!
Photography is my hobby from my teenage years. I have been practicing it since then, but a lot more intensively in the last 5 years that I am travelling the world with my camera always by my side.
Visiting Mykonos made me love photography even more! Even the most hidden corners can become the best photography spots during the magic hour! Plenty of doors in red and blue, skies dress in pink, white-washed walls, colourful staircases and balconies… It’s truly hard to capture a bad photo!
Can’t wait ‘til I see your shots in the dreamy streets and gorgeous waters of Mykonos! Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram!
