I love Singapore and I’ve been flying in and out of the country in the last 5 years. I woke up feeling so inspired today to share my favourite photo spots! These places are utterly Instagram worthy and will totally brighten up your feeds!
1. Resident of Tan Teng Niah
I’m sure you’ve seen this one all over your Instagram feeds! Come to Kerbau Road Little India where walls, windows and doors are coloured so boldly! The brightly painted architecture was built in 1900 by prominent Chinese businessman, Tan Teng Niah for his wife. Isn’t that sweet? Stand at a distance to get a wide angle and be creative with your human element shot!
2. Red Hill MRT Station
With its millennial pink walls and bubblegum tinted ceilings, this Pink Train Station is hands down the cutest transit I’ve set foot on! Taking your photos in here will make you feel as though you’re in a K-pop music video set!
3. Peranakan houses
These terrace houses are located near the intersection of Joo Chiat Road and Koon Seng Road. It is just a quick ten-minute drive from the city centre. If you are a sucker for pastels like me, prepare to feel like a unicorn running on rainbows as you won’t be able to resist the temptation when the backdrop is this aesthetic!
4. Teamlab Singapore ArtScience Museum
Prepare your #Ootds, cameras and snap away! These photogenic dreamscapes from TeamLab have become a must-see for visitors, Singaporeans and ’gramaholics, of course. With over 170,000 LED lights, this illusion of stars in space makes you feel as if you’ve stepped into a whole new galaxy!
5. Marina Bay Sands
This one needs no introduction! Marina Bay Sands easily is the most iconic building in Singapore. It’s the world’s most photographed hotel and it’s also home to the world’s highest and longest infinity pool! Walk around Gardens by the Bay and you can take a photo of the whole structure in all its glory!
6. Fort Canning Park, Fort gate
The spiral staircase at Fort Canning Park has been taking over everyone’s Insta since last year! Shoot from below to capture the towering tree in the background and grey-tiled walls surrounding it! It’s considered as an Instagram hot spot and a famous wedding photo shoot location so come early to beat the queue!
7. Nagore Dargah
Nagore Dargah is located at 140 Telok Ayer Street in the historic Chinatown area. The arched windows and doorways of the shrine made me come here! It’s quite tricky to get a photo during the day as traffic is really crazy! So please come really early if you want unobstructed views of this beautiful Indian Muslim Heritage Centre!
8. Jewel Changi Airport
Jewel Changi is the most talked about airport right now! Crowds have not stopped streaming into the Rain Vortex ever since it opened its doors! With the place’s stunning scenery and awe-insipiring atmosphere, it naturally sets the stage for the most beautiful portrait!
9. Arab Street
After exploring the eating joints and boutiques in Haji Lane, I found myself in Arab Street. The most iconic spot along the street is Masjid Mosque and makes the perfect backdrop for your shot!
10. Old Hill Street Police Station
Coming from Clarke Quay, it’s hard to miss the Old Hill Street Police Station as it just stands out in the street! There are over 900 windows & shutters painted with rainbow colours! The moment you get there, guaranteed you won’t stop posing like the road is your runway!
Seriously, if you didn’t take any Insta-worthy photos, did you really visit Singapore?
Remember, we live in a digital era and there’s no shame in sharing all the pretty places you’ve been all over your social media! Can’t wait to see your feed level up with all your photos taken from Singapore! P.S. There’s no need to be a crazy rich Asian to enjoy the city! HEHEHE!
